Assessment for Patterns in Relationships, Emotions, and Identity in Thunder Bay

Understanding long-standing patterns in how you feel, relate, and respond

Sometimes the question you want answered is about patterns that show up across relationships, emotions, and how you experience yourself, patterns that may feel hard to explain, shift, or make sense of.

You might notice that certain reactions, relationship dynamics, or emotional experiences keep repeating, even when you’re trying to do things differently.

A personality assessment can help bring clarity to those patterns.

What This Might Look Like

This type of assessment may be helpful if:

  • Relationships tend to feel intense, confusing, or difficult to maintain
  • Emotions feel strong, fast-changing, or hard to regulate
  • You find yourself reacting in ways you later question or don’t fully understand
  • There’s a pattern of feeling misunderstood, rejected, or disconnected
  • You’ve received different diagnoses over time that don’t fully fit
  • You want a deeper understanding of how you think, feel, and relate

Personality is not about labeling who you are.

It’s about understanding patterns that have developed over time and how they impact your life.

Personality assessments are designed to identify consistent patterns in how people think, feel, and behave across situations, which can help clarify both strengths and challenges

Why Consider This Type of Assessment?

This process can help with:

  • Making sense of patterns that feel repetitive or hard to change
  • Understanding how past experiences may be shaping current responses
  • Clarifying whether a personality-related diagnosis may or may not apply
  • Identifying strengths, coping strategies, and areas for support
  • Creating a clearer direction for therapy or next steps

For many people, the goal isn’t a label, it’s understanding.

Our Approach

We take a careful, respectful, and non-pathologizing approach.

This includes:

  • Looking at patterns over time, not just isolated symptoms
  • Considering context, identity, and lived experience
  • Avoiding assumptions or quick conclusions
  • Focusing on clarity, not judgment

We are explicitly 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming, and we recognize that identity, trauma, and systemic experiences can shape how personality is expressed and understood.

What to Expect

 Step 1: Intake Appointment ($200)

A detailed conversation about your history, relationships, emotional patterns, and goals.

Step 2: Testing Sessions ($400-$800 each)

Use of structured interviews and standardized measures to understand patterns in personality, coping, and emotional functioning.

Step 3: Feedback Session

A clear, thoughtful explanation of findings, along with practical recommendations.

You’ll receive a written report following the assessment.

How This is Different From Other Assessments

This type of assessment focuses less on a single condition and more on patterns across time and situations.

It can be especially helpful when:

  • previous explanations haven’t felt complete
  • multiple concerns overlap
  • you’re looking for a more in-depth understanding
