Exploring who you are can be exciting, overwhelming, liberating, and sometimes lonely.
Whether you're questioning your gender, exploring your sexual orientation, healing from religious trauma, navigating relationships, supporting a loved one, or trying to better understand yourself, you deserve a space where you don't have to explain, defend, or justify who you are.
We provide 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming therapy in Thunder Bay and across Ontario for adolescents, adults, couples, polycules, families, and allies. Support is available for gender identity, sexuality, relationship diversity, religious trauma, self-understanding, and related concerns.
If you've been wondering whether therapy might help, you're not alone.
Many people come to therapy carrying questions they have never felt safe asking out loud. Others are navigating family conflict, shame, rejection, relationship challenges, or the lasting impact of messages they received about who they should be.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Therapy can provide a space to explore your experiences, better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and build a life that feels authentic and aligned with your values.
Some people come to therapy with a clear sense of who they are. Others arrive with questions, uncertainty, or experiences they have never felt safe discussing.
Therapy can provide space to explore:
Affirming therapy is about more than acceptance.
Many 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals grow up receiving messages, both direct and indirect, about who they should be, how they should act, and what relationships should look like. Even in supportive environments, these experiences can shape self-esteem, relationships, identity development, and mental health.
Therapy can help you:
We believe affirming therapy requires more than acceptance. It requires understanding the ways identity, relationships, family systems, culture, faith, and broader social environments shape a person's experiences.
Our approach is collaborative, person-centred, and trauma-informed. We strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered to explore what matters most to them.
We have experience supporting transgender, non-binary, gender-diverse, queer, questioning, and sexually diverse individuals, as well as parents, partners, and family members seeking support.
We also recognise that many 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals are neurodivergent, and we strive to provide care that is both affirming and responsive to each person's unique strengths, needs, and experiences.

Our goal is not to tell you who you are. Our goal is to help you better understand yourself and create the life and relationships you want.

You do not need a label before starting therapy.
You do not need to be certain about your gender identity or sexual orientation.
You do not need to know exactly what you want.
Many people begin therapy with questions rather than answers.
Therapy can provide a space to explore those questions without pressure, judgement, or expectations about where you should end up.

Many people exploring gender, sexuality, and identity are also working through experiences related to faith, religion, spirituality, or religious communities.
If messages from family, culture, or religion continue to affect your self-worth, relationships, or sense of identity, therapy can help.

We provide therapy for:
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and are committed to providing inclusive, affirming care.
You deserve a space where you can explore who you are without needing to explain, defend, or justify yourself.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, we're here to help.
